CBSE- The Board which does not when to stop with the games

CBSE- The Board which does not when to stop with the games

Let me start by saying that I am a very good student. A hard-working and a reasonably smart one. People around me can easily provide testimony to this fact.
This years Mathematics paper!!! Whoosh… I can go on and on and on about it. My school did set a difficult paper in preboards. That is why I got scared and practiced a lot. I must have easily solved more than 15 question papers (after 15 I stopped counting) and of course I did all the sums in the in the Bible of CBSE that is the NCERT textbook. I also made sure to solve the sample papers released by CBSE for 2015 and 2016 examinations. Oh and I solved the sample papers in two and a half hours…Of course I am not the only one ! I am sure thousands of students across the country studied from NCERT did not take specific tuition for maths!
What CBSE’s absolutely brilliant paper setters did was set a lengthy paper. It wasn’t verrry tough for me but the calculations and steps in the majority of questions were very lengthy and silly mistake prone. Need I remind that these questions were at a higher level than our NCERT sums. Yes. Many were more difficult than the questions in the miscellaneous exercise. I am desperately trying to fathom what exactly it is that CBSE is trying to test. They might claim that they are trying to discourage rote learning but newsflash! Lengthy questions are much easily done when then are memorised!
OK …so you suddenly want to *improve* the standard of education or what !? If YOU WANT TO SET DIFFICULT PAPERS THEN IT IS YOUR JOB TO PREPARE US FOR IT ! Funnily enough the school teachers also don’t know what to expect, so they can’t guide us ! Ask why….because somebody up there thinks that our education is like play dough… Just do whatever you want with it ! Cut offs don’t matter to you do they ! Along with Indian colleges, foreign universities also set cut offs based on CBSE’s earlier reputation where they were known for a good paper and proper checking. Sad part is that they have no idea how CBSE is treating us these days. Well the only thing you learn from such an experience is how to deal with unpredictability in life!
And also CBSE’s textbooks and syllabus are literally to be laughed at ! From 6th to 10th there are half portion tests and all sorts of formative assessment yadi yadi yada. Then suddenly 11th is made insanely difficult with sacks of information hitting us on the face like a ton of bricks ! You think you are reducing stress !?!?!?!?!?!? What a terrible joke! You are misguiding the students and increasing stress! The education system of India is incredibly messed up ! Unfortunately it is so messed up that I can’t even suggest a reform!
Next time I hear someone giving advice to a naïve 12th class student “study from only NCERT. No need for extra bulky books”, that person will be subjected to my verbal wrath for being incredibly stupid. And also an advice to my juniors…Don’t be confident of anything as long as CBSE is concerned. They love flipping the switch all the time. Just get a good tutor or if you are lucky enough to have an amazing school teacher ask them to push you and make you practice really difficult ‘lengthy’ sums ……
P.S. I just checked the news. There are allegations about an identical maths paper in the hands of a Ranchi student. So what is going on exactly!?
